Gabby Williams supplied the tying basket and the assist on the go-ahead 3-pointer as the Golden State Valkyries held off the Las Vegas Aces 83–81 on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Chase Center in San Francisco.
Williams finished with 20 points, five rebounds and three assists, helping Golden State take a 2–0 lead in the best-of-five WNBA semifinal series.
Her most consequential sequence came after Las Vegas erased an 11-point deficit entering the fourth quarter. A’ja Wilson’s driving layup put the Aces ahead 76–74 with 1:36 remaining. Williams answered 11 seconds later with a 14-foot pull-up jumper to tie the game.
After a Las Vegas shot-clock turnover, Williams found Veronica Burton for a 28-foot 3-pointer with 41.5 seconds left. The basket gave Golden State a 79–76 advantage that it never surrendered.
Williams shot 7-for-17 from the field, including 3-for-8 from beyond the arc, and made three of four free throws in 29 minutes, 41 seconds. Her three assists matched Burton for the team lead.
The Valkyries needed additional contributions to finish. Kayla Thornton and Burton each made two free throws in the final eight seconds. After Jackie Young missed her last free throw, Kiah Stokes blocked Chelsea Gray’s reverse layup with three seconds left, and Burton secured the rebound.
