The Turnaround
The game pivoted in the sixth inning. Stefanic singled to center, driving in McNeil and Gelof to make it 1-2. Heim followed with a single to left, scoring Clarke to extend the lead to 1-3. Bolte then tripled to center, bringing in White and Heim to make it 1-5. Butler grounded into a fielder's choice, allowing Bolte to score and extend the Athletics' lead to 1-6. In the seventh, Smith homered to left for Houston, cutting the deficit to 2-6. The Astros continued their push in the eighth. Altuve hit a sacrifice fly to left, scoring Wade Jr. Diaz singled to left, scoring Alvarez. Paredes then scored on a wild pitch by Medina, bringing the Astros to within one run at 5-6.
