The game remained tight until the eighth inning, where the Royals exploded for four runs. Pasquantino singled to right, scoring Garcia, and Isbel singled to left, bringing in Pasquantino.

Collins hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Perez, before Rave doubled to right. Rave's hit scored Tolbert, Witt Jr., and Isbel, extending the Royals' lead to 5-8. Garcia then singled to right, allowing Rave to score and making it 5-9.

In the ninth inning, Muncy homered to center for 414 feet, scoring Walton, but the Royals held on for the win.

Pitching Performance

Jeffrey Springs pitched 5.2 innings for the Athletics, allowing five hits and two earned runs while walking three batters and striking out one. Seth Lugo started for the Royals, pitching six innings with nine hits and five earned runs allowed, striking out three without issuing a walk. Craig Kimbrel secured the win, pitching one inning with no hits, no earned runs, and one strikeout.

Drew Rom took the loss, pitching one inning with three hits and four earned runs allowed, walking two batters.
