Blazers pull away late

The Portland Trail Blazers beat the Golden State Warriors 123-118 in an NBA preseason game Wednesday night, October 7, 2026, at the Moda Center, outscoring Golden State 37-32 in the fourth quarter of a game that was tied 86-86 after three.

Portland led 36-31 after the first quarter and 57-50 at halftime. The Warriors answered with a 36-29 third quarter to pull even before the Blazers took control down the stretch.

Leaders

Deni Avdija led Portland with 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting in 21 minutes. Damian Lillard scored 15, and Micah Potter added 13. Donovan Clingan grabbed 10 rebounds, and Ja Morant and Jrue Holiday had five assists each.

Miles Kelly scored a game-high 24 points for Golden State, making 6 of 11 3-point attempts, and added seven rebounds and six assists. Dalen Terry had 23 points, nine assists and eight rebounds in 43 minutes, and Brandon Williams scored 17.

The win gave Portland a 1-0 preseason record. Golden State fell to 1-2 in the preseason.
