Milwaukee could not turn its chances into runs against Walbert Urena, who carried Los Angeles through six scoreless innings in the Angels’ 3-0 win over the Brewers on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California.

Urena gave up three hits, walked three and struck out seven. He earned the win and moved to 7-7, setting the tone for a Los Angeles pitching staff that kept Milwaukee off the scoreboard all game.

The Brewers finished without a run despite drawing five walks against the Angels’ pitchers. Milwaukee’s record moved to 69-42 with the loss.

Meckler supplies the early swing

Los Angeles did all the scoring it needed in the second inning. Meckler homered to right center, a 388-foot drive that also brought in Grissom and gave the Angels a 2-0 lead.

That was the only home run of the game. It also accounted for the only runs charged to Jacob Misiorowski, who took the loss and fell to 11-5.

Misiorowski worked seven innings for Milwaukee, allowing two hits and two earned runs. He walked one and struck out 10, keeping the Brewers within reach after the second-inning swing.

Angels add on late

The score stayed 2-0 until the eighth inning, when Los Angeles added one more run. Neto reached on an infield single to third, and Guzman scored to make it 3-0.

DL Hall pitched one inning for Milwaukee, allowing two hits and one earned run. He walked one and struck out one.

Los Angeles finished with three runs, all coming on the two scoring plays. Milwaukee was held scoreless across the full game.

Bullpen closes it out

After Urena’s six innings, Luke Murphy pitched one scoreless inning for Los Angeles, allowing no hits with one walk and no strikeouts. He was credited with his first hold.

Sam Bachman followed with one-third of an inning, allowing no hits and no earned runs with one walk. He earned his 17th hold.

Ryan Zeferjahn recorded the save, his fourth, by pitching 1 2/3 scoreless innings. He allowed two hits, walked none and struck out four.

The Angels improved to 43-69. Attendance was 31,061 at Angel Stadium.
