Chargers Suffer Fourth Straight Defeat
The Los Angeles Chargers left Seattle with a 0-4 record after falling 30-23 to the home Seahawks on Sunday, October 4, at Lumen Field. The defeat marked the fourth consecutive loss for Los Angeles, as the visiting squad struggled to contain Seattle’s balanced attack in front of a crowd of 68,691.
Despite efforts by quarterback Justin Herbert to keep the game close, the Chargers could not overcome the defensive pressure and scoring efficiency displayed by Seattle.
Second-Half Momentum Shifts
The game unfolded with early leads changing hands, but Seattle established a cushion in the second quarter that proved difficult to erase. The Chargers opened the scoring with Cameron Dicker’s 40-yard field goal, but Seattle responded with a 23-yard touchdown pass from Sam Darnold to Emanuel Wilson.
The Seahawks extended their lead in the second quarter with a 28-yard rushing touchdown by Rashid Shaheed, followed by another Wilson score, an 8-yard run. Although Dicker kicked a 39-yard field goal late in the half, Seattle entered the break leading 20-6.
In the third quarter, the Chargers attempted a comeback. Kimani Vidal caught a 9-yard pass from Justin Herbert for a touchdown, closing the gap to 27-13. However, Seattle’s Jason Myers added a 35-yard field goal to make it 30-13.
