Dodgers Extend Series Lead

The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Atlanta Braves 3-1 on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Truist Park to take a 2-1 lead in the National League Division Series. The visitors rode a strong start from Yoshinobu Yamamoto and two fourth-inning home runs, moving within one win of advancing in the best-of-five matchup.

The Braves, playing at home, could not answer the Dodgers' fourth-inning burst and fell short in their attempt to even the series.

Scoring Summary

The Dodgers broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning. Enrique Hernández hit a 406-foot home run to left field that also scored Andy Pages, giving Los Angeles a 2-0 advantage. Freddie Freeman followed with a 399-foot solo home run to right center field, extending the lead to 3-0.

The Braves scored their only run in the fifth inning, when Mauricio Dubón came home on a Drake Baldwin groundout to first base, cutting the deficit to 3-1. Neither team scored again.

Pitching Performance

Yamamoto earned the win, pitching seven innings while allowing four hits and one earned run. He struck out 10 batters and walked one. Tanner Scott pitched a scoreless eighth inning, allowing no hits, striking out two and walking one.

Edwin Díaz closed the game for the save, allowing one hit and no runs in one inning with no walks or strikeouts. For the Braves, Chris Sale took the loss, pitching five innings while allowing seven hits and three earned runs. He struck out seven batters and did not walk anyone.

Dylan Dodd, Dylan Lee, Brent Suter and Raisel Iglesias each pitched a scoreless inning of relief for Atlanta. Dodd allowed one hit and struck out two, Lee struck out one, Suter walked one, and Iglesias walked one and struck out two.

Series Outlook

The Dodgers, who finished the regular season 100-62, lead the series 2-1 over the Braves, who finished 94-68. Attendance at Truist Park was 42,420.
