Contreras fuels Milwaukee comeback

The Los Angeles Dodgers fell 7-4 to the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 2 of the NLCS on Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, as William Contreras drove in three runs and Milwaukee's bullpen kept Los Angeles off the board after the fifth inning. Milwaukee leads the series 2-0.

Contreras singled to left in the first inning to bring home Brice Turang and tie the game at 1. He then homered to center in the fifth inning, a 436-foot drive, to make it 4-4. In the sixth, his single to left scored David Hamilton and put the Brewers ahead 5-4.

Dodgers strike first

Los Angeles took a 1-0 lead in the first when Teoscar Hernández hit a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Mookie Betts. Milwaukee answered in the bottom of the inning when Contreras singled home Turang.

The Dodgers moved back in front in the third. Tommy Edman scored on a pickoff error by Brewers starter Logan Henderson, with Betts picked off second, making the score 2-1. Milwaukee responded with a two-run single by Christian Yelich that scored Hamilton and Turang, giving the Brewers a 3-2 advantage.

Los Angeles tied the game in the fifth when Edman's sacrifice bunt scored Kyle Tucker, and Edman reached second on a throwing error by Henderson. Freddie Freeman then hit a sacrifice fly to left to score Edman, and the Dodgers led 4-3. Milwaukee challenged the call, but it was upheld before Contreras tied the game with his home run.

Brewers add insurance

After Contreras' go-ahead single in the sixth, Milwaukee added two runs in the eighth. Turang singled to right to score Hamilton, and Jake Bauers singled to center to bring home Turang. Contreras advanced to second and reached third safely on a fielding error by center fielder Andy Pages.
