Marner’s overtime goal lifts Golden Knights past Kings 2-1

Mitch Marner scored in overtime and finished with two points as the Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Los Angeles Kings 2-1 on Saturday.

Kings answer in the second

The Los Angeles Kings erased an early deficit but could not finish the comeback, falling 2-1 to the Vegas Golden Knights in overtime Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026. Mitch Marner scored the deciding goal for Vegas, adding one assist for a two-point game.

The opening period was scoreless. Vegas then moved ahead in the second when Trevor Connelly scored his second goal, with Mark Stone and Marner assisting. The goal made the score 1-0 for the Golden Knights.

Panarin ties it

Los Angeles responded in the same period. Artemi Panarin scored his third goal on a wrist shot, assisted by Adrian Kempe and Brandt Clarke, to make it 1-1.

The teams remained tied through the third period. The score by period was Los Angeles 0-1-0-0 and Vegas 0-1-0-1, with the final goal coming in overtime.

Marner settles the game

Marner ended the game in overtime with his second goal. Stone provided his second assist of the game, and Connelly also assisted on the play, giving Vegas the 2-1 victory.

Stone finished with two assists for the Golden Knights, while Marner recorded one goal and two points. For Los Angeles, Panarin had one goal and one point, and Kempe recorded one assist.

Records and setting

Vegas was the home team at T-Mobile Arena, where the attendance was 16,768. The Golden Knights improved to 5-1-0 with 10 points after the game. The Kings’ record moved to 0-2-2, leaving them with two points.
