The Colorado Avalanche organization is scheduled to send its prospects to San Jose, California, for the 2026 Rookie Faceoff. The team will participate in two specific matchups during the event, which is set to occur from September 12 through September 15.
The tournament will feature top prospects from six National Hockey League teams: the San Jose Sharks, Anaheim Ducks, Colorado Avalanche, Los Angeles Kings, Utah Mammoth, and Vegas Golden Knights. All six squads are scheduled to play on the first two days of the event, September 12 and 13.
According to the published schedule, the Avalanche will face the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday, September 12, at 2 p.m. Mountain Time. The following day, Sunday, September 13, the team is set to play against the Vegas Golden Knights, also at 2 p.m. Mountain Time. The games will be held at two local venues in San Jose: Tech CU Arena and Sharks Ice.
San Jose is located approximately 9 miles northeast of Saratoga.
This marks a change in location for the event compared to previous years. Last year, the Avalanche hosted the 2025 Rookie Showcase at the Suburban Sports Complex in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. That event in Highlands Ranch was the last time the franchise hosted the showcase, having previously held the event in 2016.
