Kings come up short

The Sacramento Kings fell 111-106 to the Golden State Warriors on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, despite 25 points and eight assists from Darius Acuff Jr. Golden State’s Yaxel Lendeborg supplied 23 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in the home victory.

Sacramento trailed 24-23 after the opening quarter, then Golden State moved in front by halftime. The Warriors scored 37 points in the second quarter while the Kings scored 31, giving Golden State a 61-56 lead at the break.

Golden State builds its lead

The Warriors added 28 points in the third quarter, compared with 25 for Sacramento, and took an 89-81 advantage into the final period. Lendeborg scored on a driving layup and a 6-foot driving floating jump shot during the second quarter, then added a driving layup and a free throw in the third.

Golden State also received a third-quarter boost from Brandin Podziemski, who made consecutive 3-pointers. The Kings answered with a 3-pointer from Leaky Black and a 3-pointer from Brandon Williams, but the Warriors remained ahead after three quarters.

Fourth-quarter finish

Sacramento scored 25 points in the fourth quarter, while Golden State scored 22. The Kings received two-point baskets from Jonathan Mogbo and a 3-pointer from Leaky Black during the period. Mogbo finished with eight rebounds.

The Warriors answered with 3-pointers from Georges Niang and Will Richard, along with free throws from Brandin Podziemski, Will Richard and Charles Bassey. The final scoring play was Bassey’s free throw, which gave Golden State its five-point margin.

The game was played at Chase Center before an attendance of 18,064. The Warriors moved to 2-2, while the Kings are 0-3 after the game.
