The loss left Sacramento 0-2 in the preseason. The Lakers moved to 2-1 in front of 18,350 fans.
How it got away
Los Angeles led 21-20 after one quarter, then pulled away in the second, scoring 36 points to Sacramento's 23 for a 57-43 halftime lead. The Lakers added to the margin in the third and carried an 86-70 cushion into the final period.
The Kings responded with a 40-point fourth quarter, holding Los Angeles to 28, but the comeback stopped four points short.
