The Cleveland Guardians defeated the San Francisco Giants 5-2 on Thursday, August 20, at Progressive Field. The win lifted Cleveland to a 62-66 record, while San Francisco fell to 52-75. Gavin Williams was the standout performer for the home side, striking out 11 batters in 5.2 innings of work.
