Trout Powers Angels Offense
Mike Trout produced a standout offensive showing for the Los Angeles Angels, recording four hits in the team’s 4-3 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Sunday at Oracle Park. Trout’s performance included two home runs, providing the critical run support needed to secure the win.
His first long ball came in the fourth inning, a solo shot to center field measuring 419 feet that extended Los Angeles’ lead to 2-0. He added a two-run homer later in the same frame, a 446-foot drive to center that pushed the margin to 4-0.
Angels Pitching Dominates Early
The Angels’ pitching staff maintained control for most of the game, holding the Giants to just three runs. Jose Soriano earned the win, pitching five innings of scoreless baseball while allowing three hits and striking out five batters. He was supported by a strong relief effort from Samy Natera Jr., Chase Silseth, and Ryan Zeferjahn, each of whom pitched one scoreless inning.
Sam Bachman allowed two earned runs in his brief appearance, but Mitch Farris closed out the game with two-thirds of an inning of work to secure the save.
