Giants rally, Rangers answer
The Giants twice came back from two-run deficits, but they could not answer Duran's final swing in the ninth. Duran drove in four runs, including Burger on a ground-rule double that gave the Texas Rangers a 5-4 win over the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Globe Life Field.
The announced attendance was 26,959.
Texas builds the first lead
Texas went ahead 2-0 in the bottom of the first. Nimmo doubled to right, scoring Pederson and moving Seager to third. Duran followed with a single to right that brought in Seager and sent Nimmo to third.
MacKenzie Gore gave Texas six innings, allowing three hits and no earned runs with three walks and four strikeouts. Blade Tidwell allowed six hits and two earned runs in five innings for San Francisco, walking one and striking out three.
San Francisco ties it twice
The Giants pulled even in the top of the seventh on the game's only home run. Basabe homered to left, a 377-foot shot that scored Gilbert and tied it 2-2. Chase Silseth was charged with a blown save, his fourth, after allowing one hit, two earned runs and one walk in two-thirds of an inning.
