San Jose Answers Back

The San Jose Earthquakes came from behind to draw the Colorado Rapids 1-1 on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. San Jose, the visiting team, responded after Colorado took the lead and held the Rapids to a tie.

The result left Colorado with an 11-4-13 record and San Jose at 13-7-8.

Colorado Strikes First

Colorado opened the scoring in the 27th minute. Donavan Phillip scored for the Rapids, giving the home team a 1-0 lead.

The goal was the only one Colorado scored in the match. Wayne Frederick recorded three total shots for the Rapids, while Nico Hansen made two saves.

Romney Levels the Match

San Jose brought the score level in the 57th minute. Dave Romney scored for the Earthquakes, making it 1-1 and accounting for San Jose’s only goal of the match.

Romney also recorded two total shots. Earl Edwards made nine saves for the Earthquakes.

Neither team added another goal after Romney’s equalizer, leaving the match tied at the final whistle. The game had exactly two goals: Phillip’s 27th-minute goal for Colorado and Romney’s 57th-minute goal for San Jose.
