San Jose took control early, breaking the deadlock in the first period when Mason Marchment scored his first goal of the season. His wrist shot stood alone as the only marker of the opening frame, giving the Sharks a 1-0 advantage heading into the second period.

Second Period Surge

The Sharks extended their lead significantly in the middle frame. Will Smith opened the scoring for San Jose with a wrist shot in his first career goal, assisted by Macklin Celebrini. The game remained deadlocked through regulation until Luca Cagnoni scored the winner in overtime. His wrist shot, assisted by Will Smith and Macklin Celebrini, secured the 4-3 victory for San Jose. Celebrini finished with three assists, while Smith contributed two goals and one assist for a total of three points. For Florida, Luostarinen led the way with two goals and two points.
