A Brutal Start for the Home Side
The Ottawa Senators opened the game with a spark of hope, but it quickly faded under the weight of San Jose’s offensive pressure. Nolan Allan immediately leveled the score at 1-1 with a snap shot, assisted by Dmitry Orlov. The Sharks then took control, and by the end of the first period, the visitors had turned a 1-0 deficit into a 1-1 tie, setting the stage for a dominant second period.

The momentum shifted decisively in favor of the visitors as Collin Graf added a goal with assists from Ty Dellandrea and Sam Dickinson, extending the lead to 3-1.
Jacob Trouba then capitalized on a chance, scoring his second goal of the night with assists from Collin Graf and Darnell Nurse. The period ended with San Jose leading 4-1, a deficit that proved insurmountable for the home team.
