San Francisco 49ers receiver Demarcus Robinson left Sunday’s game after an ankle injury and was transported from the field in a medical cart. The team listed him as questionable to return, and Niners Nation reported that San Francisco had not immediately ruled him out for the remainder of the game.
The injury happened near the end zone. Robinson appeared to have separation on the play, but the throw came behind him, and his ankle seemed to catch on the playing surface while he attempted the catch.
Robinson’s injury followed several other setbacks among the 49ers’ receivers. Ricky Pearsall will miss the season, while Christian Kirk and De’Zhaun Stribling are on injured reserve. Niners Nation had listed Pearsall, Kirk and Stribling among the players expected to be San Francisco’s leading receivers entering the regular season.
