The Los Angeles Chargers began preparing for their Week 3 matchup with the Buffalo Bills with eight players absent from Wednesday’s practice. Derwin James Jr. and Khalil Mack received veteran rest, while James was also listed with a finger problem.
Elijah Molden and Dalvin Tomlinson were sidelined by hamstring issues. Trey Pipkins III was out because of a knee injury, and Kayode Awosika was listed with a fibula issue. Brenen Thompson had a quadriceps injury. Charlie Kolar missed the session with a forearm injury after having surgery Monday.
Coach Jim Harbaugh said Wednesday that Kolar will remain off injured reserve, although he had previously been expected to go on the list. No return timetable was provided. Four players were limited: Rashawn Slater had a groin injury, Tuli Tuipulotu and Rodney Shelley had hamstring injuries, and Cole Strange had a pectoral issue.
Ladd McConkey, who was listed with a rib injury, and Deane Leonard, listed with an abdominal injury, participated fully. Los Angeles is scheduled to play Buffalo at Highmark Stadium on Sunday at 10 a.m. Pacific time.
The initial report did not include game statuses for the listed players.
