Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey was back at practice Friday ahead of the team’s Week 2 matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders. McConkey missed the Chargers’ first two practices of the week after hurting his ribs while trying to catch a pass in the season-opening loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

The team did not specify whether McConkey had a limited or full workout, leaving his status for Sunday unresolved. Los Angeles is also missing receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith, who went on injured reserve earlier this week. If McConkey is unavailable, Quentin Johnston, Tre’ Harris, Derius Davis and Brenen Thompson could handle the receiver duties.

Los Angeles is trying to avoid an 0-2 start, a position from which only eight of the 40 teams since the NFL adopted a 17-game schedule in 2021 have made the playoffs. The Raiders are pursuing a second straight win after beating the Miami Dolphins in Week 1. The AFC West’s other teams are the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos.

The Chargers face five road games among their next seven contests, including six against teams that reached the 2025 playoffs. Four of their last six games are also scheduled away from home.
