The Chargers announced two practice-squad moves Thursday, restoring wide receiver Gary Jennings Jr. to the unit and parting with rookie long snapper Spencer Triplett.
Los Angeles had waived Jennings a few days earlier to open a spot for tight end Hayden Rucci. Rucci was added after injuries hit the Chargers’ tight end group. Jennings first joined the team after KeAndre Lambert-Smith, another wide receiver, went on injured reserve. The team did not provide more information about Jennings’ expected role.
Triplett’s stint lasted one day after he signed with the practice squad. He had filled the place of Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who was elevated to the active roster. Triplett spent six seasons playing for North Carolina. In his last year with the Tar Heels, he appeared on the Patrick Mannelly Award Watch List, which recognizes leading college long snappers each year.
