Kaiir Elam has joined the Los Angeles Chargers’ practice squad, according to reports published Sept. 17. The cornerback was selected 23rd overall by the Buffalo Bills in the 2022 NFL Draft, but he did not become a regular starter there.
Buffalo traded Elam to the Dallas Cowboys before the 2025 season. He started seven of 10 games for Dallas before the Cowboys released him Nov. 22. Elam finished the 2025 season with the Tennessee Titans.
Elam later agreed in April to a one-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs worth $1.81 million. Kansas City released him Aug. 31 after he took part in training camp and the preseason. The reports did not include further information about Elam’s role or contract with Los Angeles.
