Puka Nacua’s 129 receptions led the NFL in 2025, when the Los Angeles Rams receiver also posted 1,715 yards and 10 touchdowns. He earned his second Pro Bowl selection and a spot on the All-Pro First Team despite missing one game. Now, a hip injury has made him doubtful for Week 3 and a second straight absence appears likely.
Nacua was hurt in the Rams’ season-opening defeat against the San Francisco 49ers in Australia. He finished that game with five catches for 74 yards, then sat out Los Angeles’ Week 2 victory over the New York Giants. Davante Adams helped handle the receiving duties in that win.
ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler reported that Los Angeles is assessing Nacua from week to week and is trying to prevent a cycle of recoveries that could repeatedly restrict his availability. Head coach Sean McVay also appeared to suggest that Nacua might be ready for Week 4.
The Rams are scheduled to play the Denver Broncos in Week 3 in a Sunday Night Football game, while Nacua’s status after that remains week to week.
