Puka Nacua’s status for the Los Angeles Rams’ Week 2 matchup with the New York Giants had not been settled Monday. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that the decision remained unresolved, while ESPN said Nacua’s chances of playing were declining. The Rams are 0-1 after a 27-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, and the Giants enter at 1-0.
The two-time Pro Bowl receiver missed two late-week workouts and is listed as questionable because of a hip injury. Coach Sean McVay said the problem is groin soreness, not the psoas injury that sidelined Nacua for several weeks before the season, according to ESPN. CBS Sports reported the latest injury information.
Nacua led the Rams with five receptions for 74 yards in the opener. In 2025, he led the NFL with 129 catches, finished second with 1,715 receiving yards and tied for third with 10 touchdown receptions. He also owns league records for a rookie’s receiving yards, receptions by a rookie in one game and career receiving yards per game.
Inactive lists are expected 90 minutes before the 8:15 p.m. Eastern kickoff, or about 6:45 p.m. Eastern. If Nacua is unavailable, Los Angeles could turn to Davante Adams, Konata Mumpfield, Xavier Smith, CJ Daniels and Tutu Atwell. Jordan Whittington is another option, though he is doubtful with a quadriceps injury.
