Puka Nacua’s availability for the Los Angeles Rams’ Week 3 matchup with the Denver Broncos is still unresolved. Coach Sean McVay said the injury is not considered a long-term concern, but the team wants the wide receiver to be ready to perform instead of playing through the issue. The game is scheduled for Sunday Night Football.
Nacua missed Monday night’s game after the injury report identified a hip issue. McVay later described the problem as groin soreness and said Nacua does not have a hernia. He also said the injury is separate from the psoas problem that kept Nacua out in August.
Because of the short week, the Rams held a walkthrough Wednesday rather than a practice. The team estimated Nacua would not have taken part in a regular practice, and McVay said his status for Thursday’s practice would be evaluated. The coach also acknowledged that Nacua is frustrated.
Nacua opened the season with five catches for 74 yards on nine targets, leading Los Angeles in the opener. ESPN reported the injury update.
