San Francisco fullback Kyle Juszczyk was fined $20,033 by the NFL for an illegal use-of-the-helmet violation in the 49ers' 27-7 win over the Los Angeles Rams. Teammate Jake Tonges received a $9,266 fine for a leg-whip penalty.
Rams linebacker Nate Landman was fined $11,111 after the league determined he made an illegal helmet-related hit on San Francisco running back Christian McCaffrey. Landman can appeal the decision. Under revised league rules, he could recover some or all of the fine if he avoids further incidents.
Rams defensive lineman Tyler Davis also was fined, receiving a $6,225 penalty. During the game, he was called for roughing the passer after a hit to the head or neck of 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy.
The NFL lists a maximum first-offense fine of $23,882 for the type of violation cited against Landman. A second offense could carry a fine as high as $47,762. Sports.yahoo.com reported the penalties Sept. 19.
