Los Angeles Rams linebacker Myles Garrett is expected to miss no fewer than four weeks while recovering from a knee operation, coach Sean McVay said. McVay said the timetable will depend on the procedure and that the team does not yet have a firm recovery schedule. A return after four weeks remains possible, he said, with Garrett’s progress being evaluated one day at a time.
Garrett appeared in the Rams’ season opener against the San Francisco 49ers in Australia last week. Los Angeles fell 27-7, and Garrett finished without a tackle. Afterward, Garrett said he needed to recover and regain his previous level of performance.
Los Angeles obtained Garrett from the Cleveland Browns in a summer trade characterized as one of the NFL’s largest defensive transactions. The two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year recorded 23 sacks last season, establishing the league mark for sacks in a single season. The team did not provide additional information about the operation. The report was published by sports.yahoo.com.
