Myles Garrett is headed for knee surgery and is expected to miss at least four games after the Rams placed him on injured reserve following their game in Australia. A possible return is set for Week 6 against Arizona.
Garrett played 39 defensive snaps in Australia but finished without a tackle. He produced one pressure across 11 pass-blocking matchups with Trent Williams, along with four more pressures against the rest of the opposing offense.
Afterward, Garrett said his performance fell below his standard and stated, “I’ve got to be better.” He also said he needed to recover before returning to the level he had previously demonstrated.
The defensive end had been limited through much of training camp by swelling in a knee and practiced with a sleeve on his left leg. He did not identify which knee was affected, and the Rams offered no further details in their report. Before a potential game against Arizona, Los Angeles is scheduled to face the Giants, Broncos, Eagles and Bills.
Garrett came to Los Angeles in a trade in which the Rams sent Jared Verse to another club. The report described Garrett as a $125 million investment for the team.
