Saratoga residents interested in safer streets or the city’s historic places have two opportunities to serve: one seat on the Traffic Safety Commission and one on the Heritage Preservation Commission.
The city’s current recruitment page lists Jan. 22, 2027, as the application deadline for both. Each is a full term ending Feb. 28, 2031. City Council interviews are scheduled for Feb. 3, followed by an oath of office on Feb. 17.
Applicants must live in Saratoga and attend a commission meeting before the council interview. That attendance requirement makes checking the meeting calendar part of preparing an application, rather than a step to leave until the deadline.
The Traffic Safety Commission reviews concerns raised by residents and public safety agencies and recommends responses to the city. It is advisory and does not set city policy.
