Saratoga, California — Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors was presented the Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award during the July 14 Sports Humanitarian Awards in New York City.

Curry and his wife, Ayesha, founded the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation in 2019. The nonprofit supports Oakland youth through work on nutrition, literacy, educational equity and places to play sports.

Lonnie Ali, who leads the Muhammad Ali Center, handed Curry the award. In remarks reported by the NBA and USA Today, Curry credited Oakland’s support of his family and described the foundation’s focus on children in the community.

The Sports Humanitarian Awards are an ESPN program honoring philanthropy and public-service efforts connected to sports. Curry was recognized as the award’s 2026 recipient.

Saratoga is part of the Warriors’ South Bay fan market, while the foundation work acknowledged by the award takes place in Oakland.
