Stanford won both divisions and finished first among 18 teams at the Women’s Atlantic Coast Championship Round 1A regatta in New Hampshire over Oct. 3-4, according to official results and the university’s Monday report.

The Cardinal totaled 122 points at the Dartmouth-hosted event: 78 in A division and 44 in B division. Tufts finished second with 163 points, followed by Yale at 166. In the lower-score-wins format, Stanford’s margin over the runner-up was 41 points.

The women’s result formed one part of a successful sailing weekend. Stanford also won the PCCSC Richard Sweet Match Race Championship in Long Beach, finishing with eight wins. No racing took place Sunday because of a lack of wind, so Saturday’s results stood.

A separate Stanford squad finished second at the Danmark Trophy in New London, Connecticut, with 149 points behind Brown’s 139.

The women’s Atlantic Coast final is scheduled for Oct. 17-18 in St. Mary’s City, Maryland. That keeps the autumn championship schedule in view for South Bay followers of the Cardinal.
