Veronica Burton supplied two important baskets during Golden State’s Oct. 2 comeback against Dallas: a three that ended a scoring drought and a transition finish that put the Valkyries ahead.
Golden State had missed its first nine shots of the third quarter before Burton made the three after a timeout. In the fourth, she finished following a Kiah Stokes block to give the Valkyries a lead.
Burton recorded 16 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. Five rebounds were offensive, and she committed two turnovers. The team identified the performance as her first postseason double-double.
Golden State won 77-73 at Chase Center, taking the deciding game and the first-round series 2-1.
