Hill's pinch-hit double breaks tie in Giants' 7-3 win at Atlanta

The Associated Press led with Rafael Devers' 30th home run and Hill's two-run double as the swings that framed a 7-3 win Monday night in Atlanta, a makeup of a June 18 rainout. ESPN's scoring play matches: Hill doubled to right, Furman and Knizner scored. San Francisco snapped the Braves' seven-game winning streak and finished the season series 5-1.

The Giants are 57-81. Atlanta is 82-56.

Pinch-hit, two runs, then he scored

Molina vs. his old club

Anthony Molina (2-0), dealt from the Braves to the Giants at the deadline, made his first start of the season against his former team. He worked five innings with six hits, three earned runs, no walks, and a career-high six strikeouts, the AP reported. Jason Foley, Reiver Sanmartin, and Dylan Smith followed with four shutout innings.

Elder (8-8) lasted 5.1 innings, allowed eight hits and five earned runs, struck out three, and walked three. Lee faced three batters in the sixth and was charged with Hill's double and the go-ahead runs.

ESPN's line score: Giants 7 runs, 11 hits, 1 error; Braves 3 runs, 9 hits, 0 errors. Quarters of the game in runs by half-inning stacks show San Francisco's sixth as the decisive frame - four runs after Atlanta had led or tied for most of the night.

Skenes on deck in Pittsburgh

Logan Webb (8-8, 3.72 ERA) starts Tuesday in Pittsburgh opposite Paul Skenes (9-11, 3.79), per the AP. Hill's pinch-hit double was the contact that broke the last tie against a Braves club that entered with 25 more wins than San Francisco. The Giants left Atlanta with the series in hand and a road win built in the sixth.
