In-person voting comes to Saratoga on Saturday, Oct. 31, when the Saratoga Library opens as one of Santa Clara County's four-day vote centers for the Nov. 3 general election.

The library will be open for voting from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Nov. 2, and from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day, according to the Santa Clara County Library District.

It is one of five district locations hosting four-day sites this election; the others are the Cupertino, Milpitas and Morgan Hill libraries and The Nest Learning Center in Campbell. Hours at Milpitas run 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the first three days.

Any vote center works

Under the Voter's Choice Act system the county uses, voters are not tied to one polling place and can cast a ballot at any vote center in the county, on a paper ballot or on a voting machine, according to the Town of Los Gatos' voter information page. A vote center can also take a completed mail ballot.

The town's page lists vote centers opening as early as Oct. 24, and the Registrar of Voters main office at 1555 Berger Drive, Building 2, in San Jose has offered early voting since Oct. 5.

Voters who would rather drop off a ballot can find the county's official drop boxes, including ones next to each district library, on the Registrar of Voters' website, the library district said. It added that election officials, worried about slow mail delivery, want people to cast ballots early and to choose an official drop box over the mail where possible.

Questions about registration or ballots go to the Registrar of Voters at (866) 430-8683.
