Kittredge Secures Late Win

Andrew Kittredge pitched one inning of relief to secure the win for the Baltimore Orioles over the Sacramento Athletics on Saturday. The visitors won 4-3 in 10 innings at Sutter Health Park. The game featured a late rally by the home team, but Baltimore held on for the victory.

Orioles Build Early Lead

The Orioles established their advantage in the second inning. Beavers singled to right, scoring Mayo. Taveras then scored on an error, extending the lead to 2-0. The Athletics struck back in the seventh when Heim homered to right, cutting the deficit to one run. Butler singled in the eighth, bringing in Bolte to tie the game at 2-2. The score remained tied heading into extra innings.

Extra Innings Decider

In the top of the 10th, Mayo singled to right, allowing Narváez to score. Encarnacion-Strand followed with a single, bringing in Henderson for the go-ahead run. The Orioles led 4-2 at that point. The Athletics managed one more run in the bottom of the 10th when Gelof singled to center, scoring Williams. This brought the final score to 4-3 in favor of Baltimore.

Pitching and Records

Brandon Young started for the Orioles, pitching seven innings. He allowed five hits and one earned run while striking out four batters. Rico Garcia pitched two-thirds of an inning, allowing two hits and one earned run. Yennier Cano pitched one-third of an inning without allowing hits or earned runs. Andrew Kittredge pitched one inning, allowing one hit and no earned runs while striking out two batters to earn the win. Alex Hoppe pitched one inning, allowing one hit and no earned runs while striking out one batter to record the save.

For the Athletics, Jacob Lopez started, pitching five innings. He allowed three hits and one earned run while walking three and striking out six. Scott Blewett pitched two innings, allowing one hit and no earned runs while walking one and striking out one.

Luis Medina pitched one inning without allowing hits or earned runs while striking out two. Hogan Harris pitched one inning, allowing no hits or earned runs while walking one and striking out one. Brady Basso pitched one inning, allowing two hits and one earned run while walking one and striking out two to take the loss.

The Athletics finished with a record of 53-82. The Orioles improved to 66-69. Attendance was 7,228.
