Orioles Overcome Early Deficit

Adrian Henderson drove in three runs and hit two home runs to lead the Baltimore Orioles to an 8-5 victory over the Sacramento Athletics at Sutter Health Park. The away team trailed by four runs after the third inning but scored seven unanswered runs from the fourth through the eighth to secure the win.

Game Unfolds

The Athletics took an early lead in the first inning. After Henderson homered to center for the sole run, Butler doubled to right, allowing Gelof and Bolte to score. In the second, McNeil’s double to right brought in Serven, extending the lead to 3-1.

The A’s added two more in the third when Serven hit a home run to right center and White scored, making it 5-1.

Baltimore began its rally in the fourth inning. Mayo homered to left center, scoring Alonso and Henderson to cut the deficit to 5-4. The Orioles closed the gap further in the fifth when Henderson homered to right, driving in Alexander and Alonso to make it 7-5.

Henderson added an insurance run in the eighth on a triple to center, scoring Holliday for the final 8-5 margin.

Pitching and Records

Chris Bassitt earned the win, pitching 5.2 innings while allowing eight hits and five earned runs. He issued three walks and struck out four. Anthony Nunez recorded the save, pitching one inning without allowing a hit or a run. Josh Walker and Yennier Cano also pitched scoreless relief innings.

For Sacramento, Jeffrey Springs took the loss. He pitched 4.2 innings, allowing six hits and seven earned runs while striking out six. Scott Blewett and Brady Basso each pitched scoreless innings, and Kade Morris pitched two innings, allowing one hit and one earned run.

The win improved the Orioles’ record to 68-69, while the Athletics fell to 53-84. Attendance at the game was 7,606.
