Saratoga, California — Gas prices in the San Jose area averaged $5.3930 per gallon for regular unleaded on July 7, 2026, according to AAA, down from $5.3970 yesterday. That is down from $5.4470 a week ago and lower than $5.9180 a month ago.
The statewide average in California stands at $5.3710, while the national average is $3.7900. Drivers in the San Jose area are paying above the state average and above the national average.
The San Jose average remains below its AAA recorded high of $6.5490. Regular prices are about 53 cents lower than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $4.5880, drivers are paying about 80 cents more per gallon.
Diesel in the San Jose area averages $6.5200 per gallon, AAA reported.
