Saratoga, California — Gas prices in the San Jose area averaged $5.6310 per gallon for regular unleaded on July 26, 2026, according to AAA, up from $5.6210 yesterday. That is up from $5.4990 a week ago but higher than $5.5180 a month ago.
The statewide average in California stands at $5.6380, while the national average is $4.1100. Drivers in the San Jose area are paying below the state average and above the national average.
The San Jose average remains below its AAA recorded high of $6.5490. Regular prices are about 11 cents higher than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $4.4740, drivers are paying about 116 cents more per gallon.
Diesel in the San Jose area averages $6.8450 per gallon, AAA reported.
