Saratoga, California — Gas prices in the San Jose area averaged $6.3090 per gallon for regular unleaded on September 25, 2026, according to AAA, up from $6.2334 yesterday. That is up from $6.1080 a week ago but higher than $5.5700 a month ago.
The statewide average in California stands at $6.2882, while the national average is $4.4918. Drivers in the San Jose area are paying above the state average and above the national average.
The San Jose average remains below its AAA recorded high of $6.5490. Regular prices are about 74 cents higher than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $4.5681, drivers are paying about 174 cents more per gallon.
