Trailing Effort
The Los Angeles Angels found themselves on the wrong side of the scoreboard once again, dropping an 8-3 decision to the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field on Wednesday. Despite early offensive sparks, Los Angeles could not sustain momentum against a Rangers club that ultimately pulled away in the eighth inning.
The Angels struck first in the opening frame, taking a 1-0 lead when Soler doubled to left field, allowing Schanuel to score. Lowe added to the advantage later in the inning with a single to center, bringing Soler home for a 2-0 lead. However, the Rangers responded in the second inning. Lopez singled to left, driving in two runs as Carter and Osuna scored, tying the game at 2-2.
Pitching Struggles
The game remained tied until the seventh inning when Meckler singled to left, scoring Peraza to give Texas a 3-2 lead. The Angels quickly answered, with Foscue homering to left (387 feet) to tie the contest at 3-3.
The eighth inning proved decisive. Duran singled to left, scoring Smith and moving Burger to third. Foscue followed with a single to left, driving in Burger to make it 5-3. The scoring did not stop there. Osuna homered to right (364 feet), a three-run shot that extended the Rangers' lead to 8-3.
