The San Francisco 49ers faced several injuries during their 41-17 preseason victory against the Los Angeles Chargers, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. Cornerback Renardo Green exited the game in the first half with a hamstring issue and did not return.
Offensive lineman Austen Pleasants left in the second half due to a knee injury, while linebacker Nick Martin also suffered a hamstring injury before the game ended.
Shanahan mentioned that the severity of Green's injury remains unclear, noting that additional imaging would be necessary to assess whether he has a pull. Jack Jones filled in for Green at cornerback during the match. Pleasants, who played as left tackle and also worked at guard, has a knee concern that is not thought to be an ACL injury, but further evaluation is needed.
Details on Martin's injury were not provided by Shanahan. Additionally, guard Robert Jones did not participate in the game due to an unspecified injury and is expected to miss another week.
The 49ers will wrap up their preseason with a game against the Las Vegas Raiders next Thursday, starting at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
