The Dodgers' offense remained patient until the sixth inning, when they began to pull away from Detroit.

Offense Breaks Open in the Middle

The game’s momentum shifted decisively in the sixth inning. After an early trade of runs in the fourth, the Dodgers struck twice in the top of the sixth. T. Hernández hit a home run to left center, driving in Freeman for a 3-1 lead.

The Dodgers continued their offensive pressure in the eighth inning, where a series of baserunners and baserunning opportunities extended their advantage. Freeman and T. The Tigers’ inability to contain the Dodgers’ late surge proved costly, as they failed to score beyond their single run in the fourth inning.
