Diamondbacks Strike Early and Often

The Arizona Diamondbacks secured a decisive 9-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium on Sunday, July 12, 2026. The win improves Arizona’s record to 48-47, while the Dodgers drop to 61-35.

Arizona’s offense generated momentum in the fourth inning when Tawa grounded out to third, allowing Moreno to score and advancing Kepler to second. The Diamondbacks challenged the call on the field, but the umpires upheld the decision, preserving the 1-0 lead.

The game shifted dramatically in the sixth inning. Kepler followed with a sacrifice fly to center, bringing Perdomo home to make it 2-0. Tawa then doubled to left field, driving in Moreno for a 3-0 advantage. The inning exploded further when James McCann launched a 375-foot home run to left field, scoring both Tawa and Nolan Arenado to extend the lead to 6-0.

The Dodgers managed to put two runs on the board in the same frame. Cody Pages singled to left, scoring Tommy Edman, followed by a Mookie Betts single that scored Pages, making the score 6-2. However, Arizona quickly regained control in the seventh inning when Kepler hit another sacrifice fly to right, scoring Perdomo again to push the margin to 7-2.

McCann and Arenado Power Offense

McCann continued his dominant performance in the eighth inning, hitting a 399-foot home run to left center to cap the scoring at 9-2. Nolan Arenado also contributed significantly, homering to left field (356 feet) earlier in the eighth inning to make it 8-2.
