Trailing Effort
The Los Angeles Dodgers faced a difficult challenge at Citi Field on Sunday, ultimately falling 8-3 to the New York Mets. Early Exchange
New York took the lead in the first inning when Francisco Lindor singled to right field, allowing Ewing to score. The Mets tied the game again in the fourth inning. With runners on base, Edman scored on a groundout by Alfonzo, making the score 2-2. The Dodgers regained the lead in the sixth inning when Mookie Taylor homered to left field, a 405-foot shot that also brought Benge and Robert Jr. home.

Turning Point
The momentum shifted dramatically in the seventh inning. A passed ball by catcher Rushing allowed Ewing to score, cutting the deficit to 5-4. Another passed ball by Rushing later in the inning allowed Ewing to score again, bringing the Mets within one run at 5-5.
The game remained tied until Semien launched a 366-foot home run to left field, scoring Bichette and Polanco. This three-run homer gave New York an 8-5 lead, effectively sealing the victory.
Pitching Performance
Los Angeles starter Emmet Sheehan pitched five innings, allowing three hits and one earned run while striking out five batters. However, the bullpen struggled to hold the lead. Jack Dreyer and Evan Phillips gave up critical runs, with Phillips taking the loss. Will Klein allowed four earned runs in his inning of work. Charlie Barnes closed out the game with a scoreless inning.
For the Mets, Freddy Peralta gave up two earned runs over four innings. Cionel Perez earned the win after pitching two scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Brooks Raley secured the save with a perfect inning, and Devin Williams finished the game with three strikeouts in one scoreless inning. The game drew an attendance of 34,566 fans to Citi Field in Queens, New York.
