Manjot Dhaliwal, 21, of Yuba City, was identified as the driver in a single-vehicle crash on State Route 9 that claimed three lives. The California Highway Patrol confirmed that Dhaliwal lost control of his 2024 BMW M3 while traveling eastbound near Redwood Gulch Road in Saratoga. The vehicle plunged approximately 400 feet down an embankment.
Two other occupants were also killed in the incident: Ranvir Randhawa, 17, of San Jose, and a 27-year-old man from Salem, Oregon. The names of Dhaliwal and Randhawa were released by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner Coroner’s office on Wednesday.
The crash occurred around 9:36 p.m. Monday. Highway 9 remained closed in both directions for about three hours while officials responded. The investigation is ongoing, and details remain preliminary.
