Saratoga authorities have issued updates on three separate incidents that occurred over the last week, involving property damage, physical violence, and financial fraud.
The first report involves grand theft from auto. Between August 23 and August 25, an individual removed a catalytic converter from a car parked in the 18000 block of Bellgrove Circle. The incident resulted in an estimated loss of $1,500 for the vehicle owner.
On the evening of August 28, police responded to an assault and battery call at a McDonald's located on Prospect Road. At approximately 10:04 p.m., two suspects allegedly surrounded a victim, creating a situation where the individual felt trapped. The suspects then struck the victim, causing a graze to their cheek. The victim managed to flee the scene before law enforcement arrived.
A third incident reported on August 30 involves identity theft. A resident of Saratoga came forward to report that someone had utilized their personal identifying information to secure a loan. The financial impact of this fraud was approximately $4,409.
