Saratoga is observing its 70th anniversary with a series of community events throughout the summer. The celebrations began on July 26 at the 15th annual Classic & Cool Car Show held in Saratoga Village. City officials, including Vice Mayor Tina Walia, Mayor Chuck Page, and Councilmember Kookie Fitzsimmons, gathered alongside event organizer Tiger Teerlink to mark the occasion with a commemorative cake.
The city has scheduled a primary anniversary celebration for Saturday, August 22, from noon to 5 p.m. at Wildwood Park. The event will feature live performances by the Kilbort Brothers and Daze on the Green. Attendees can participate in family games organized by Parks and Recreation, view historical displays, and visit community booths. Food, beer, and wine will be available for purchase.

Other local events are also highlighting significant milestones. The Saratoga Chamber of Commerce is celebrating its 100th year with the return of Saratoga Nights on Thursday, August 6. The event runs from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Saratoga Village parking lot and includes live music, food, and local vendors.
Local businesses are also marking centennials. Novakovich Orchards at 14251 Fruitvale Ave has operated for 100 years, focusing on stone fruits such as apricots, cherries, peaches, plums, and nectarines. The family-run farm remains one of the few remaining orchards in the area.
Summer Movie Nights at El Quito Park will conclude with a screening of "The Bad Guys 2" on Friday, August 7. Activities start at 6 p.m., with the film beginning at dusk. The event typically draws over 400 residents who bring blankets and lawn chairs. Free popcorn and temporary tattoos for children are provided.
