Events begin on Monday with Alison Carpenter Davis discussing her book at Books Inc. in Palo Alto. Attendees are advised to verify the start time with the venue. Later that evening, poetry readings take place at Santa Cruz Public Library and Fireside Books & More in Redwood City.
Tuesday features online programming alongside in-person gatherings. Priya Parker leads a session on conflict resolution via Santa Cruz Public Library, while San Jose Public Library offers an introductory creative writing workshop. Bookshop Santa Cruz hosts The Hive Live! featuring Amber Coverdale Sumrall and Jen Siraganian.
Wednesday brings Pedro Martín to Bookshop Santa Cruz for a discussion of his graphic memoir. In Alviso, the Alviso Branch Library hosts a journaling game. Thursday includes a writing group for seniors at Garfield Park Branch Library and an online session with Yasmine Cheyenne through Santa Clara County Public Library.
In San Jose, Sally Ashton presents her work at King Library in the evening. The Willow Glen Branch Library hosts Third Thursdays with Poetry Center San Jose that same night. Friday’s schedule highlights the California Writers Club South Bay Writers Open Mic at the Willow Glen location.
Saturday offers multiple options for writers. The California Writer’s Club SF Peninsula Branch meets at Hope Lutheran Church in San Mateo. Shut Up & Write sessions are held at Blue Bottle Coffee in Palo Alto and the Abbey Coffee Lounge in Santa Cruz. In Saratoga, Susan Sherman and Elizabeth McKenzie discuss their writing processes at the Saratoga Senior Center.
