Tatis Powers Padres Offense
The New York Mets fell short Tuesday as the San Diego Padres unleashed a potent home-run barrage to secure a 5-2 victory at Citi Field. Fernando Tatis Jr. was the central figure in the away team's attack, driving in three runs on two home runs. His first, a 452-foot shot to left center, opened the scoring in the first inning.
Tatis added a second homer to right center in the fifth, which also brought in Ramon Laureano, extending the Padres' lead to 3-0.

New York cut the deficit to 4-2 in the eighth when Robert Jr. launched a 390-foot homer to center. The game concluded in the ninth inning when Machado hit a 397-foot homer to left center, giving the Padres the final run of the night.
